A note from your school counselors
During this unprecedented break from school, we wanted to provide as many resources as possible to ease the tension that some students may be temporarily feeling.
To start, here is an article that gives some helpful ideas on how to talk to kids about COVID-19: https://childmind.org/article/talking-to-kids-about-the-coronavirus/ . We want to emphasize how important it is to maintain a schedule during this time. Kids can be thrown off by not being "in school." With milestones coming up next month, now is the time to stick to your established, healthy schedules. Additionally, schedules and routines maintain normalcy, something we all need during this time.
Also, here is a link to a Google Drive folder with many resources for you to use with your children over the next two weeks. There are calming strategies, coloring pages, resources for parents, and much more. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CdVFgJ_45Ox-_FMrkLE6yxIBm61uLOv2?usp=sharing We will be updating this folder over time, so make sure to check back often. This will include story time, video lessons, and check-ins from each counselor.
